Entertainment for the kids! 

The Wheels of Time Street Rod Association announces its 38th Annual Rod & Custom Jamboree at Macungie Memorial Park on August 26th, 27th, and 28th. This show will be lots of fun with more features, activities, entertainment, and family fun for participants and spectators alike. Proceeds benefit more than two dozen Charitable Organizations and scholarship programs. Special features this year include the following: 

• Guest Appearance by Actor Henry Winkler “Fonzie” all 3 days.
• Tribute to Veterans with military display and Veteran tent.
• Carnival rides and games for young and old 

Come see Actor Henry Winkler who played “Fonzie” on the popular TV show Happy Days from 1974 to 1984. He played Fonzie in several spin off shows like Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and Joannie loves Chachi. He has produced several shows such as MacGyver and Sabrina, the teenage witch. Acting is his passion and he has starred in the movies “Scream” and “The Waterboy”, along with shows “The Practice”. Fonzie will be available for autographs all 3 days with times to be determined and posted on our website. 

The show’s tribute to veterans will have a tent with veterans to tell stories and discuss their trials and tribulations. An actual combat Helicopter will be on display along with some other machinery. 

The Wheels of Time Rod & Custom Jamboree includes over 1,500 street rods and custom cars, 1985 or older. Preregistration for cars is open until July 15, 2016 and spaces are available. Car Registration is also available at the show, however participant does not receive any merchandise like the preregistered cars. See our website for registration forms and details. Each vehicle is an individual creation representing American innovation and creativity and is a unique expression of performance and style by its owner. Coveted Wheels of Time awards are given each year to 20 participants’ cars at the show. National Street Rod Association Vehicle Safety Inspections are also conducted free of charge during the show.

The Wheels of Time Rod & Custom Jamboree is one of the largest all-volunteer events in the nation and each year approximately 20,000 spectators and participants attend the show. Over the past 20 years an average of $60,000 is given each year to local charities and the Wheels of Time scholarship program for young adults. To date, over $1,300,000 has been donated to local community organizations, over 300 scholarships have been awarded, and hundreds of pints of blood have been given to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. The blood mobile will be on site on Sunday for donations. Wheels of Time members have also provided countless hours of community support with cars for parades and events, volunteer hours at fire company, and support for those in need. 

Other show highlights include Valve Cover Racing, Our famous Car Teeter Totter, Bingo, Auction to benefit MDA, Women’s World, and entertainment for the kids. The huge flea market and women’s crafts area has 250 vendors, plus a car corral with dozens of cars for sale. The beautiful Macungie Park offers many good food vendors, swimming pool, and a playground for the kids. Carnival rides and games are being provided by S & S amusements. Ride tickets available at booth in the carnival area in the northwest corner of the park. 

The annual Friday night cruise through Emmaus will again go on for the first 200 show cars that sign up on Friday at the show. This has been a long time favorite of the community. The route for this year is the same as last year. At 6:30 pm, Cars will leave Allen Organ lot and head south on Rt. 100, turn left on Buckeye Rd., turn left on rt. 29(Chestnut st.), go through Emmaus & turn left on Harrison, pass High School & turn right on Cedar Crest Blvd., turn left on Lower Macungie Rd., turn left on Willow Lane and back to Rt. 100, turn left back to the Park. 

This year, live bands will play at the Wheels of Time Rod & Custom Jamboree each night. Friday’s entertainment for the evening from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm will be “Main Street Cruisers”. The Allentown Hobo Marching band will entertain the crowd on Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening band and dance entertainment from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm will be by “Flamin Dick and the Hot Rods.” 

Many other activities are going on though out the weekend thru the efforts of the Ladies Auxiliary. On Friday, they have planned a cake walk, bingo, and gift basket raffle. On Saturday and Sunday, planned is a basket auction, bingo, crafts and guessing games. Saturday has an auction of merchandise to benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association at 2:30 pm. This popular event always brings unique items for sale and all proceeds go to MDA. We want to thank Buckeye Pipeline for donating to this event.

The show opens each day at 7:00 AM. Spectator gate admission is $8 (under 16 free). Bring a non-perishable food items and get $1 off the admission price. Thousands of pounds of food are donated each year to a local food bank, thanks to your donations.
