National Night Out events are community celebrations that bring comunities together to heighten knowledge of crime prevention.  Individual townships and cities conduct their own events and orginize them with their local police force.  Local National Night Out Celebrations are listed below.  Each township offers independent events on this night with entertainment for kids, demonstrations and information on how to stay safe in our community!

Participating Muicipalities: See visit your local municipality's community Facebook page or website for location information and more details and to location your township/city's event. 

Alburtis: The community center pool will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. For $3 (children age 2 and under are free) the pool party will include hot dogs, games and prizes, a basket raffle benefiting the Alburtis Police Department's Crime Prevention Program, the band Bootleg Express and swimming. Organizers will collect canned goods and offer raffle chances for each donated item. 

Bethlehem Township: The community center will host an event 6 to 8:30 p.m. that includes games, a moon bounce and information tables. Free food and entertainment are also scheduled. The Nancy Run and Bethlehem Township fire departments will offer a vehicle firefighting exhibition and a Jaws of Life demonstration. There also will be a K-9 demonstration and a landing by PennStar helicopter, followed by tours of it.

Easton: Block parties will be held at the following locations: 5 to 8:30 p.m., West Berwick Street between Filbert Street and Sietz Avenue; 5 to 9 p.m., 1200 block of Spring Garden Street; 4 to 9 p.m., North Ninth Street between Bushkill and Sassafras streets; 6 to 9 p.m. Tenth Street Gardens at South 10th and Pine streets;  5 to 9 p.m. South Fifth Street between Northampton and Pine ttreets;  4 to 7 p.m., Easton Community Center,  South Ninth Street between Butler and Washington streets; 5 to 9:30 p.m., Pioneer Playground, Milton Street between Reynolds and Center streets; 4 to 7 p.m., Neston Heights, Jones Houston Way; and 5 to 8 p.m., Nevin Park, Nevin Terrace between Mixsell and Park streets.

Freemansburg: The borough has an event planned 6 to 9 p.m. in Municipal Park, Cambria and Washington streets. Activities include bounce houses, hay rides Kid ID, mini "crime scene investigation, face painting, food, beverages, fire and police demos, raffle and prizes. A moment of silence will be observed at 6:30 p.m. in honor of Officer Robert Lasso, making the 5th anniversary of his death.

Hanover Township: The Colonial Regional Police Department will be at the Hanover Township Community Center from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, ice cream and birch beer as well as inflatable rides, games and prizes. The K-9 Unit will hold a meet-and-greet with an appearance by McGruff the Crime Watch Dog. A variety of local agencies will offer information and bike safety checks will also be available. The night will also include music and a performance by the Hanover Starz Cheerleaders.

Lower Saucon Township: Police and fire equipment will be traveling through areas throughout the night, stopping to meet with residents and giving tours of equipment. From 6:20 to 7:20 p.m., police and fire equipment will be in the area of Arden Lane while bike officers will be in the Society Hill/Four Seasons area and the Woodfield area; from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., police and fire equipment will be by the clubhouse at Society Hill and bike officers will be in Steel City and the Saucon Valley Terrace areas; from 8:40 to 9:40 p.m., police will be at the Steel City Fire Co. and bike officers will be in the area of Old Philadelphia Pike, Deer Run, Victor Road and Viola Lane.

Northampton Borough: A meet-and-greet with Mayor Thomas Reenock and Police Chief Ronald Morey will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Northampton Municipal Park on Smith Lane. Organizers would like to discuss restarting a crime watch group in the borough.

South Whitehall Township: The South Whitehall Township Police Department will host a community kickball tournament from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park on River Road. In addition to the competition between neighbors and emergency services, there will be a free cookout and booths set up by vendors and organizations.

Whitehall Township: The Whitehall-Coplay School District Football Stadium parking lot will be busy from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with appearances by police officers, the Whitehall Fire Department, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, LVHN MedEvac, Whitehall Emergency Management, Whitehall elected officials and school district personnel. First responders will show a variety of vehicles, including the MedEvac helicopter early in the evening.

Upper Macungie Township: Festivities are planned for 5 to 8 p.m. at Lone Lane Park and include food vendors, amusement rides, a moon bounce and inflatable obstacle course, live animals from the Wildlife Conservancy, an NFI truck driving simulator, and face-painting and caricatures. Additionally there will be a Dunk-a-Cop stand, fire and ambulance displays, and a Jaws of Life demonstration.
