Join us for this one-time-only program as John Baer, Superindentent, and Lee Butz, President and CEO of Alvin H. Butz Inc. discuss just what it takes to build a professional baseball stadium. Alvin H. Butz was behind the massively successful Coca-Cola Park, home to the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. This program is free with regular museum admission! This program coincides with NMIH's Making America's Pastime exhibit, exploring how the balls, bats, gloves, and uniforms of the MLB are made and how the MLB became a $9.5 billion industry. In addition to seeing how baseball’s bats, balls, and gloves evolved over time, learn about Bethlehem Steel’s impact on Major League Baseball and how the company’s wartime league wooed the likes of Babe Ruth and “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. This exhibit is on display until the end of October.
