Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first tow people on the Moon (1969) and it is no accident that the first Earth Day (1970) occurred a few months later as views of the whole Earth hanging in space, such as the Earthrise view of Apollo 11, generated appreciation for humanity's home planet. NASA has continued to capture images from space and has created the stunning "Blue Marble" you can see on the Science on a Sphere at NNC. Join us to discover all about the first moon landing and see Earth as it looks from space.
