These unique properties on Doylestown are the home of Henry Mercer and Mercer's Fonthill Castle.  Henry Mercer began collecting artifacts from the pre-industrial revolution era to preserve and document the mechanical history of America before it was all swept away and replaced my machines. Mercer built Fonthill castle in 1916 to house his collection of more that 80,000 artifacts and treasures. Run by the Bucks County Historical the property hosts many community events, educational programs, birthday parties, family programs. Field trips and group events are available along with well as outreach programs are available to reach those who cannot make the trip to the museum or castle

Mercer on the Move  Educational trunk rentals are available for schools, groups, scouts and homeschoolers. Trunks must be picked up and returned to the museum. Rentals fees are  $75, plus a $50 refundable deposit for a three-week rental. For more information call 215-348-9461, extension 210.

In Class presentations Bring the Mercer Experts to you classroom or group with one-hour presentations using original and reproduction artifacts at your school. 

For single class programs the fee is $100 for a group of 35 students (max.) for a one-hour presentation; $25 for each additional hour. There is a $15 surcharge for locations outside of Bucks County, PA. Our multi-class program is $8 per student.

Recommended for school age kids, especially if you make it a family treasure hunt.
I have many fond memories of when my grandparents used to take my sister and I to visit and explore. I later got married at Font Hill.
Every time I visit, I find something I hadn't noticed before.
Also, check the calendar for special outdoor events, like the antique car show in early July.
