The Ironton Rail Trail is a converted railroad track. The railraod was used from 1860 through 1996 and was abandoned in 1984.  In 1996 the track was purchased and re-purposed, the track is now a paved path located just north of Whitehall. The trail is a total of 9.2 miles and includes a 5.5 mile loop. Pets on leashes are permitted. The Trail is open to bikers and rollerbladers, walkers and runners. No motorized vehicles are permitted.

Went for a walk here on a gloomy day, what a nice pick me up! Trail may be stone/paved, but it's still a beautiful walk.
