Since the inception of heavy industry, maps have been a vital tool in recording and understanding enterprises that could span miles. In this special presentation, we will pull several historic maps of the Bethlehem, PA, plant of Bethlehem Steel out of the archives and take a close look at them to trace the growth of Bethlehem Steel. In the process we will also identify the spots on the plant maps that mark long lost places such as tunnels, a residential neighborhood, and even an island. Admission for this special “How It Works” tours is $5 in addition to regular museum admission.
