Community Music School (CMS) is a nonprofit organization that provides quality music education to all interested students, regardless of their age, ability, background, or financial circumstances. CMS employs over 30 professional musicians who provide high-quality private and group instruction in nearly every instrument and voice.  CMS also provides extensive, tuition-free outreach programs that bring music to students in under-served, high-poverty schools. Private lessons are available in bass, clarinet, cello, composition, drumming, flute, Flutophone, guitar, harmonica, keyboard, piano, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, ukulele, violin, viola, voice, & more!

CMS teachers are sensitive to each student’s individual musical abilities, needs, and pace of learning - meet them here:  http://cmslv.org/faculty.aspx.  We are committed not only to developing musicians, but also to giving all students access to the life-long benefits of music study through performance and collaborative opportunities. In 2017, CMS celebrates 35 years of success in inspiring musicians of all ages, providing opportunities to achieve excellence, and helping students appreciate the transformative power of music!

Our main office and studios are located in the Downtown Allentown arts district, with a satellite office and studios in Reading, Berks County at GoggleWorks.  CMS also offers lessons during the school year at Penn State Lehigh Valley (Center Valley), Jewish Day School (West Allentown), and Moravian Academy (Bethlehem).
